St. Angela Merici: Caring for Italian families yesterday and today …with confident hope for a secure tomorrow.
You are invited, and encouraged to attend an extremely important Parish Meeting to discuss the future of St. Angela Merici Parish.
What: Very Important Parish Meeting
When: Thursday, 19 October 2023 – 7:30 pm after the 7pm mass (attending the mass can’t hurt either – not required, but you are welcome to attend)
Why: Hear about a very large donation to the Parish and a plan to secure our future
Who: Everyone with an interest in securing the future of the parish. If you have friends, family, or neighbours who know and love this church – bring them!
Attending: Attending this meeting will indicate support for the Parish and for the work that has to be done to secure our future.
The meeting will include:
- A brief update on the repairs to the elevator and restoration of the front steps.
- Learn about a very, very large donation that is being used to fund these projects.
- Review of the condition of the Parish and what that means for the future.
- A review of the plan to revitalize the Parish and secure its future for our children and grandchildren.
The Plan includes the following strategies:
- Eliminate our parish debt.
- Eliminate the annual deficit.
- Improve attendance by reaching out to Italian families.
- Reach out to the surrounding neighbourhood.
- Establish an outreach program for the Parish.
- Undertake important capital projects.
- Hire A full-time Italian-speaking facilitator with an office at St. Angela.
- An opportunity to have input into the plan and the decisions … this parish is yours!
Both the Donor, by their generous donation to fund the repairs to the elevator and the restoration of the front steps (with much, much more to come), and the Diocese of London, by approving these capital projects to proceed, have demonstrated great confidence in the future of this parish.
Both will be prepared to do so much more, but this will be entirely dependent upon your willingness to participate.
The parish pastoral team has listened carefully and intently to the community and have used what they heard for the preparation of a plan to secure the future of this parish. Implementation of that plan, however, requires your full support and participation.
There is much work to do, and it is well beyond what can be implemented by staff. If you want this parish to continue, you must be willing to make it happen. The very first indication of whether you are prepared to do that would be by attending this meeting.
